And Then There Were Four

Little Lady has arrived! She has a full head of the softest hair and the cutest, wrinkly old man feet. She is, in short, pretty darn perfect. And Little Man has been a total champ about sharing his precious limelight with her. We even managed to stage the perfect shot of the two babies where Little Man is holding his Little Sister and starting at her lovingly (but in actuality, is watching his beloved Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on an iPad strategically placed behind Little Lady's head).

Thank you a million times over for your lovely emails, text messages, and Facebook posts. I've definitely appreciated reading them when I'm up at 3 a.m.!

They say that having another kid makes you more efficient. Somehow, you're suddenly able to make sure both babies are not covered in strawberry stains and/or spit-up, clad in matching outfits, and grinning perfectly with sunlight streaming behind them in the millions of photos you're posting on Instagram. If you weren't super efficient with one, don't worry, you'll be so much better with two. Needless to say, they are lying.

In the last two weeks since Little Lady's arrival, the Hubster and I have eaten more than our fair share of fast food (Taco Bell is our poison of choice!), frozen pizza (Red Baron or bust!), and ice cream (Ben & Jerry's of course!) to cope with the crazy, inconsistent schedules of a newborn and a toddler. And that's WITH my parents staying with us, doing the dishes, the laundry, and calming temper tantrums (ours and the babies'). My parents are heading back home at the end of this week so it's about to get real!

But fear not! Our pantry and freezer are stocked with our favorite junk food, our Netflix queue is ready to go, and our hearts are full so I'm sure we'll be just fine. Or so I keep telling myself.

  1. That top photo is beyond gorgeous. She looks perfect to me, those fingers, she even has perfect fingernails. I'm seeing lots of mommy, daughter main-pedi dates, complete with frozen yogurt afterwards. Such a blessing having extra helpers around. If you run out of pizza or ice cream, let me know and I'll come and restock you. I bet she even smells good. Enjoy soaking her all in and try and rest when you can. Congrats!
