FoodBuzz Festival 2011

Another year, another fabulous FoodBuzz Festival.  I learned some important lessons during FoodBuzz Festival 2010 and this year was no different.  Without further ado, here's Lawyer Loves Lunch's Top Ten list:

10) Did you know that in addition to making chocolate, Godiva also makes coffee?  And not just coffee but a fabulous Chocolate Truffle Coffee?  If they start making shoes, they will have cornered the market on the three loves of my life.

9) Mission Minis has somehow figured out how to condense the flavor of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup into a cupcake they appropriately call the Peanut Butter Kiss.

8) Three Twins Ice Cream has a great story, organic ingredients, and a green business model.  More importantly, they have über tasty ice cream (especially the mint confetti, which uses chocolate flakes and not chocolate chips, which always become hardened pellets in ice cream).

7) Hanging out with lawyer foodies (and honorary lawyer foodies) is still awesome.

6) The good folks at J. Lee Roy's BBQ Sauce were serving up meatballs drenched in their mighty tasty BBQ sauce. The sauce was so good, I could have eaten it like a soup.  Luckily, they gave me a bottle of their spicy sauce to take home so there may be some delicious, delicious BBQ sauce soup in my future.

5) TCHO is a San Francisco chocolate company that makes a drinking chocolate that tastes like the perfect melted chocolate bar.

4) Nuts covered in spices as varied as rosemary and ajwain. Sounds simple enough. And yet, the nuts from Oren's Kitchen are anything but simple.  I should know.  I sampled more than my fair share of these tasty little buggers.

3) Foodzie is like an edible Etsy.  You want, no NEED, to sign up for their tasting box for the apple juice alone.

2) Sweet offered samples of their crème brûlée on wooden spoons.  The crème brûlée was so good, I didn't even mind the splinters in my mouth.

1) Swag?  Um, yes please.

  1. hey you look great.. motherhood suits you!! Nice read!

  2. Looks like I missed some goodies at the festival. It must be because I kept going back to the same tables for seconds! :) So nice to see you last weekend, Azmina!

  3. I'm glad you had a good time and made such an outstanding haul. You look fantastic, New Mom.

  4. You do look outstanding New Mom...I am shocked at how tiny you are once again. You look so rested too! What's your secret?

I wish I could have made it to Food Buzz! One day...and we'll meet again! This time both kids in tow. :)

  5. So glad I got to run into you, even if it was only for a few minutes. I missed most of that, but next time I'm gonna be on you like a shadow, I did make a beeline straight for the Godiva though. Can't wait to see you soon and BabyLovesLunch better be with you.

  6. Azmina, you are back to your pre-pregnancy self again! I scrolled back up to see if it was a recap from 2010.

  7. What a refreshing weekend for you! You look fabulous.

  8. So. jealous. of. swag.

Ahhhh, I love free stuff! So much, that I'm sure if it weren't for Roo I'd be on a future episode of Hoarders.

In a way, I blame my heritage. Old Japanese ladies love, *love* getting gifts, like pens or stationary or god forbid handkerchiefs, and they say, "oh this is so special...so special I can never use it," and tuck it away in a drawer somewhere. Yes, I inherited that lovely trait from my grandmother and mother and am not even 31 yet.

If Roo ever leaves me, you'll know where to find me; burried under a pile of pens, stationary and handkerchiefs.

  9. Looks like you had a fab time , wish I could be there and might I say look really gorgeous , motherhood really suits you :) .

  10. What are the chances of a Festival like this coming to Islamabad?! Looks like so much fun!
