I really wanted a Korean taco from Namu followed by a couple of Mission Minis cupcakes for lunch. I wanted to wander around San Francisco with fabulous food blogger friends. Oh, and I wanted companies to give me fabulous kitchen gadgets to try. Instead, I had a styrofoam cup filled with ramen that was in solid form only minutes before I microwaved the heck out of it. A client absentmindedly put my favorite pen in her mouth. And the final kick in the 'nards? I found out the coffeemaker at work is broken! Needless to say, it's tough to go back to work on Monday morning when you've spent the weekend at the food blogger paradise known as Foodbuzz Fest.
So what did I take away from an amazing weekend of eating, meeting n' greeting, eating, learning, eating, hugging, and well, more eating?
You can make fabulous friends on Twitter. And they're even more fabulous when you meet 'em in person. Say hello to Caffeina, A Thought for Food, Hungry Rabbit, Stetted, Cilantropist, and the Baking Barrister.
Never turn down a cupcake. Or four cupcakes.
It's fun to see MasterChef friends again. Hi Food Samba and Salty Seattle!
When the Korean tacos are this good, you have to eat two. Even if you're full. Especially if you're full.
It's so great to have a lovely friend to walk around the tasting pavilion with. It's even better when said lovely friend is willing to wait in an hour long line for fish tacos.
Go back for seconds of delicious popcorn, especially the chipotle caramel.
You have to be in the front row to cheer on friends who create amazing recipes. Especially because the samples come to you first when you're in the front row ;)
Lots of wine glasses automatically bump up a table's street cred.
It's important to find your picture twin.
I heart swag bags, especially when they are filled with kitchen doodads.
Don't mess with giants.
And finally, who says you can't mix food and law?
See ya' next year, Foodbuzz friends. So long, and thanks for all the fish!
It's nice to see people that chat on Twitter finally meet up! Looks like a good time was had with a couple of drinks and a few snacks along the way ;)
